The Challenge

Astronomically high energy usage with an average daily consumption of around 400kWh, resulting in substantial electricity bills for this large multi-family household. The customer needed a system big enough to make a real dent in their day-to-day grid dependence and protect against future energy price rises.

Our Solution

We designed and installed 224 Jinko 440W solar panels paired with a SolaX Aelio 60kW Hybrid Inverter connected to 200kWh of DC-coupled battery storage. The system charges via solar during the day and tops up from off-peak grid tariffs overnight, then discharges through the day and evening to cover the household's heavy load. We managed the full G99 DNO application, structural roof checks, scaffold, install, commissioning and handover.

The Results

The household has dramatically reduced its grid dependence, with the battery covering peak-rate hours almost entirely. Surplus solar is exported under the Smart Export Guarantee, providing additional income. The combined system is one of the largest domestic installs we've completed and is on track to pay back well within the warranty period of the panels.
